Life at Follett Stock is about much more than just work! Of course we take what we do very seriously, but we don't take ourselves too seriously and most importantly we enjoy what we do!
At the heart of Follett Stock's strategy is the belief that 'great people make a great firm'. We believe that such an ethos gives our team the desirable attributes that our lawyers are widely recognised for. We pride ourselves on a rare blend of professionalism, pragmatism, approachability, commercial awareness, but above all, an unequivocal desire to succeed. We believe that it is this formula which has helped us to build the long-standing relationships with our clients that we enjoy today.
We have no vacancies at present.
The firm currently has several trainees who have the option of choosing six different seats throughout their training period. It is usual, though not necessary, for contracts to commence in September. We usually consider applications for the following year during the period January - March. The application period for training contracts for September 2013 has therefore now closed.
If you are interested in a Training Contract, please complete the on-line Application Form accompanied by a covering letter (CV optional) to Martin Pearse, details as above.

“Looking to kick start your legal career by training at the most progressive firm in the South West?! Follett Stock have a fresh and dynamic approach which turned my expectations of what life as a trainee would be upside down (and I mean that in a good way!)
Complex, interesting matters, great support, relaxed (but professional) working atmosphere, awesome social calendar – need I say more?... Oh yes, no suits at work either!
Sounds too good to be true? It isn’t. I qualify in 3 months and can honestly say that I have loved every minute of my training contract at Follett Stock.” Jeremy Crook - Solicitor, (Former Trainee Solicitor)
"Follett Stock is committed to providing their trainees with excellent training to put them in good stead for their career ahead and that was obvious to me from day one. There is all the help and support you need, no two days are ever the same and you get to work in a great part of the world. What more could you ask for!?!" Donna Negus - Solicitor (Former Trainee Solicitor)
"Part of my degree requires me to do a 40 week placement. As a Cornish maid, I had no hesitation in returning to my homeland. I admit: it’s not as simple finding a decent law firm in Kernow as it might be in the “City”, but there is more to Cornwall than meets the eye. I applied to Follett Stock, whose growth and expertise has been influenced by recent demographic changes in Cornwall. No other firms I approached were interested in taking on a student; but FS jumped at the chance. Most of the lawyers at FS are city migrants themselves and by extension the firm is very ‘city-minded’. I was inducted like a trainee solicitor and integrated into their Personal Development Review Scheme (including SMART objectives which cover all my university requirements). I am given a wide range of fee earning work and, if I get stuck, there is always someone willing to help. I am treated the same as my colleagues, including being on the firm’s website and in firm photos. To be honest, I have never felt like I am on work experience! This placement has allowed me to gain practical skills often new to those looking for jobs after graduation. Law in practice is far removed from academia. By getting a placement with this firm I feel I have a huge advantage over other graduates" Helen Paull - Student.
We use a combination of recruitment agencies and advertising in local & trade press.
