TRAINING CONTRACTS

The firm currently has five trainees who have the option of choosing six different seats throughout their training period. It is usual, though not necessary, for contracts to commence in September.  We usually consider applications for the following year during the period January - March.  Applications for training contracts for September 2012 should therefore be received no later than March 2011.

"Part of my degree requires me to do a 40 week placement. As a Cornish maid, I had no hesitation in returning to my homeland. I admit: it’s not as simple finding a decent law firm in Kernow as it might be in the “City”, but there is more to Cornwall than meets the eye. I applied to Follett Stock, whose growth and expertise has been influenced by recent demographic changes in Cornwall. No other firms I approached were interested in taking on a student; but FS jumped at the chance. Most of the lawyers at FS are city migrants themselves and by extension the firm is very ‘city-minded’. I was inducted like a trainee solicitor and integrated into their Personal Development Review Scheme (including SMART objectives which cover all my university requirements).
