She returned home to Cornwall having trained and qualified with national firm Bond Pearce, where she specialised in employment law and commercial litigation, working under the then Chairwoman of the Employment Lawyers Association. Initially she worked as part of the Dispute Resolution Team here at Follett Stock, resolving commercial disputes as well as employment ones, but her interest has always been in workplace disputes (she says they are more interesting that just arguing over money!) so from late 2004 she has worked exclusively in the employment field. Verity works for many large employers across the South West, advising on restructuring, changes to terms and conditions and redundancies. She lectures to the CIPD and provides bespoke in-house training for clients on topics such as disciplinary and grievance procedures [see also our workshop program]. She has particular expertise in resolving tricky stress and disability discrimination cases, as well as aiding companies to reduce sickness absences. She has a reputation for giving ‘clear, very practical advice’. Verity also acts for individuals who are in dispute with their employers, seeking to gain the best resolution to the problem. She understands that money is not always the issue, with reputation and dignity being often the key factor in any case. She also undertakes her own advocacy at Employment Tribunals and would like to be Tribunal Chairwomen some day!Client Comments:
