
Solicitor
Rachel was born and grew up in Cornwall.
She attended university at UWE, Bristol where she completed her law degree in 2001.
After completing her degree she immediately returned to Cornwall and began working at a local law firm where she worked full time whilst studying to become a solicitor.
Rachel qualified as a Solicitor in July 2004 and began specialising in employment law; dealing with both commercial and individual clients and has experience of Claimant and Defendant work.
Rachel has experience in dealing with both contentious and non-contentious work; from drafting contracts of employment, office policies and procedures to advice on managing disciplinary and grievance procedures effectively, discrimination cases, etc. Rachel has also undertaken her own advocacy at Tribunal on cases.
She has delivered training on behalf of Cornwall College on legal issues and given speeches to the business community.
Rachel has also had work experience with the Exeter Employment Tribunal where she shadowed a Chairman for 3 weeks, which gave her valuable insight into how Tribunals make decisions, which has proven to be invaluable in advising clients.
Rachel is in the process of undertaking her Masters degree in Employment Law.
