What is her role? Penny is Head of the Corporate and Commercial Team here at Follett Stock with responsibility for corporate finance, corporate restructuring, asset and share sales, joint ventures and management buy-outs as well as all general commercial and technology-related matters.
What does she do? Penny can advise companies from PLCs to down small private companies on refinancing, restructuring, mergers and aqcuisitions, as well as advising on all commercial areas including incorporation, to general terms of business, technology contracts, framework, distribution and franchising agreements.
How? Quickly and effectively, by listening to the client’s objectives and finding the most pragmatic and cost-effective way of achieving them – and its all done using plain English.
Route to Follett Stock: Penny trained at top City law firm, Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw and qualified there in 1994 into the Corporate Group where she handled a mixture of corporate and commercial work. From there she went on to work as In-House Legal Counsel for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for e-commerce provider, GE Information Services where her responsibilities included setting up Joint Ventures with local partners throughout the EMEA region and licensing e-commerce solutions. After developing a food franchising business, she set up her own two partner law firm in West Sussex which she ran for two years, before joining up with one of the largest regional law firms in the South East, DMH Stallard where she worked prior to joining Follett Stock.
