What does he do?
Martin is a partner. He specialises in commercial litigation, or dispute resolution as we prefer to call it. He currently leads our Dispute Resolution team, but he also oversees our Commercial Property team.
He has particular experience of commercial property matters, disputes concerning land and buildings, including construction contracts, and intellectual property disputes.
How?
His job is to find a satisfactory resolution to disputes, often heading them off before they become too expensive and sometimes even preventing them from happening in the first place.
Sometimes you'll need to go in hard with proceedings and an injunction to make someone do or stop doing something. Sometimes it will be better to use one of the various forms of alternative dispute resolution or simply to negotiate. In a nutshell, if you have a dispute he can help you sort it out quickly, efficiently and effectively.

Born and raised in Cornwall, Martin has worked in various businesses around the world: in London, India, Australia, Spain and the USA.
He trained and then practised at top London firm Freshfields and Forsters, where he specialised in commercial litigation. His experience ranges from County Court claims right through to multi-million pound actions in the High Court.
He has a Masters degree in Advanced Litigation. He is also an accredited mediator and a member of various specialist bodies, including for instance the Society of Construction Law.
