Managing Partner
What is his role? He is the Managing Partner of the firm with ultimate responsibility for everything we do.
What does he do? He is a fully qualified solicitor advocate in the civil courts and has the same rights of audience there as a barrister. He has particular expertise and extensive experience in resolving complex disputes whether business related or personal such as high value divorce cases.
How? Powerful but well reasoned and reasonable advocacy on behalf of his clients. Finding solutions - not creating problems.
Route to Follett Stock? He trained and practised at Denton Hall (now Denton Wilde Sapte) in the City of London before seeing the light and relocating to Truro in 1995. He joined Follett Stock as a partner in April 1999.
Best bits? Winning generally. In particular helping to secure £37,500,000 for clients when they didn't have a legal leg to stand on. More recently being voted "Partner of the Year" at the Lawyer Awards and "Business Leader of the Year " at the Cornwall Business Awards.
Worst bits? On occasions having to agree with my clients that the "law is an ass".
Why instruct him? He used to be in business himself and understands the pressures business people face. They want an evaluation of the options for them and to be presented with a speedy and effective solution to the problems. He also speaks plain English unlike many lawyers out there. The Legal 500 this year describes him as "feisty".
“It’s not often you find a solicitor who is easy to deal with, explains things simply, and has a lot of common sense, Chris is one of those few”.
"You informed me of your firms estimated charges at the the outset and gave me very straight talking advice on all of the issues. You then kept me fully informed and was courteous and professional throughout. You also enabled me to achieve the result which I desired. Many thanks for your help, and as a mark of your professionalism, I am now sending a large number of civil litigation clients to your firm".
