Before going into law Barny studied International Politics and French at Aberystwyth University. He then took time working in business and then in the humanitarian sector for an NGO in London and briefly in Africa before studying law at the College of Law in Guildford. He completed his training contract with Michelmores LLP before moving to Follett Stock.
He has experience in contentious probate, commercial litigation (including IP) and civil litigation, employment law, property litigation and procurement law.
Having spent 8 years in France (fluent) and having picked up a number of cross-border disputes he is a good choice for multi-jurisdictional work.
Barny has been recognised for providing consistently good commercial advice, meeting clients objectives and successfully working to tight deadlines.
Client Comments:
“I was impressed with your attention, calmness and simple direct questions, followed by a simple direct recommendation, which from my experience was far removed from many in the Legal fraternity who seem to take a joy in making comparatively simple issues, very much more complex”
“I believe you were quick to grasp the whole picture, carefully phrasing your questions to ensure that picture was correct before making your recommendation for action.”
“I particularly valued your calm approach and the precise nature of your recommendation, which you explained very carefully… thank you very much for that.”
“Dear Barny, Many thanks for your e-mail and your advice on this matter to date… The support you have given me has been exemplary and, if needed I will call upon you again.”

"I consider myself to be very fortunate to have had Mr Barny Croft represent me in a recent Court case. He has been not only totally professional and efficient, but I have also been very impressed with his caring attitude."
"Mr Croft has taken the trouble to email me and ring me out of office hours to keep me updated and to reassure me of the progress he was making."
"I have no hesitation in recommending him in future and can only say that he will be a great asset to any individual or firm who may wish to instruct him."
