Legal Oscars - Here We Come Again!!!!

FOLLETT STOCK is the only law firm from Cornwall, Devon or Somerset shortlisted for an award at the prestigious Lawyer Awards 2009. 

The glittering awards ceremony will take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s glamorous West End on Tuesday 23 June.  

According to the editor of The Lawyer, Catrin Griffith:-

“The Lawyer Awards is about the celebration of excellence in the profession across private practice, the public sector, commerce and industry, and     the Bar. It is unquestionably the biggest night of the year for the legal profession.  Every year we are deluged with hundreds of entries.

The Lawyer editorial team conducts a huge research process, interviewing hundreds of lawyers and their clients to supplement the nominations.  The     Lawyer was the first legal magazine to put together a senior advisory judging panel taken from the great and the good in City institutions and the media.

The combination of this and The Lawyer’s own research has made these Awards the most comprehensive and incisive reflection of the commercial legal market. It’s no wonder that they are the most sought after trophies in the law.”

This is not the first time Follett Stock has enjoyed success in these awards.  In 2005 the firm was shortlisted and in 2006 it was even more successful when Managing Partner, Chris Lingard, won the prestigious “Partner of the Year” category.   Chris was also “Cornwall Business Leader of the Year” in 2007 and last year the firm won the coveted “Best Trainer of the Year Award”.

The news of this success has come at the same time as the firm has announced its intention to adopt the Precious Lives Appeal as its charity of the year.  The lawyers intend to hold a series of exciting events during the year including a celebrity football match at the home of Truro City Football Club in September.  The first such event however will be held on their stand at the Royal Cornwall Show on 4, 5 and 6 of June.  Always inventive, this year Follett Stock will be offering people the chance to win a credit crunch busting £50,000 and asking entrants for a £1 donation to the appeal in order to take part.
