Our thriving Family Team advises and represents clients in all types of family matters including divorce, cohabitee disputes, children and financial disputes.

Solving family law problems often involves many other aspects of the law. Our Family Team can call on the expertise of other departments within the firm whenever necessary to advise, for example, on company law and tax and trust issues.

Our Family Team has considerable experience in advising clients from all backgrounds with all types of problems and disputes.

Our busy Family team is headed by Associate Partner Rebecca Gurgul who also heads our Exeter office.  Rebecca joined Follett Stock in July 2009 from Clarke Willmott LLP.  Rebecca is a recognised expert in family law with particular specialism in cohabitation issues and relationship breakdowns which involve complex financial matters, for example family businesses (from small start ups to those with multimillion pound turnovers), farms and high value assets.  In fact, Rebecca is one of only a handful lawyers in Devon and the only solicitor in Cornwall with specific accredited status in complex financial matters involving high incomes and substantial assets.  Rebecca is also a member of the Law Society’s Family Law Panel and a trained Collaborative lawyer.  She also has experience of dealing with disputes that relate to children.

Based in Truro, matrimonial and family specialist Lynne Bray has an impressive background of over 24 years local experience of dealing with difficult divorce cases, ancillary relief and child matters.  She is a particular favourite with clients and comes highly recommended from members of the Cornwall family bar. 

Lynne works closely alongside Legal Executive Lisa Haywood, who specialises in cohabitation issues.  Lisa is a strong litigator with a practical approach and so able to conclude cases through compromise as well as through the Courts.
