General Counsel
Marc Deegan leads our corporate team. Marc has advised on multi million pound commercial transactions in his home country Australia, in the Far East and in the UK. He brings a fresh approach to what he does which is a million miles away from the stuffiness so often associated with his discipline.
Penny Paddle heads up our commercial team. She is a vastly experienced company/commercial solicitor able to offer a broad range of experience including general commercial contracts, intellectual property and technology matters, joint ventures, shareholders’ agreements, MBO’s and acquisitions, corporate governance matters, public sector procurement, software licensing and distribution, software support and maintenance, service level agreements, reseller agreements/referral agreements, and website usage agreements. Penny trained at top City law firm, Rowe and Maw (now Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw) and qualified there in 1994 into the Corporate Group where she specialised in the cutting edge of IT law. From there she went on to work as In-House Counsel for Europe, Middle East and Africa for E-commerce provider, GE Information Services. After developing a food franchising business, she set up her own two partner law firm in West Sussex and then joined up with one of the largest regional law firms in the South East, DMH Stallard where she has worked prior to joining Follett Stock.
Venture capitalist
Jenny Nott has specialist knowledge of complex business transactions including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and shareholder agreements. She has also been heavily involved in setting up venture capital limited partnerships having acted for HSBC on their regional venture capital funds. She was also awarded a two star rating in the 2001 ‘Insiders’ Guide to Corporate Finance’, for transactions in excess of £50m when working at City firm Nabarro Nathanson.
Lucy Morgan is an Associate Partner and specialises in entertainment, media and intellectual property matters. She trained and worked at London firm Richards Butler before joining media specialists H20. She has been with the firm for 4 years and has built up a loyal following here in Cornwall.
Fiona Higgins has an MBA in Business from Manchester Business School together with a degree in law from Cambridge. She is a commercial lawyer who understands what it means to be in business having previously enjoyed high level roles at Freeserve and where she was responsible for instructing some of the best known City law firms as a client. She is also the firm’s first Relationship Manager.
Ritu Solanki is experienced in corporate, commercial and company transactions with a particular specialism in International agreements and foreign direct investments having worked for many high net worth clients.
Donna Morcom and
Jeremy Crook are currently undertaking their training seats in our Corporate/Commercial Team and are playing a crucial role in assisting the team on a wide range of corporate transactions.
