We are delighted to announce the addition of two experienced professionals to further strengthen our highly reputable Employment team.
Associate Partner Verity Slater heads up our Employment team. She is widely recognised as one of the highest profile employment solicitors in Cornwall. The team advises on all aspects of Employment Law, both contentious and non-contentious, and acts for employers and employees alike.
Emma Bramley joins as a solicitor from Liverpool giant Hill Dickinson. She brings with her substantial experience in providing employment advice to a wide range of clients, including large multi-nationals, SME’s and high networth individuals. Her portfolio includes McDonalds, YMCA and Wincanton & Borne Leisure who operate the Butlins, Haven and Warner brands. She advises on all employment matters with particular specialisms in TUPE regulations, sexual orientation discrimination, drafting of specialised employment documentation including consultancy agreements and terms and conditions of employment. In addition to being an experienced Employment Tribunal Advocate she also regularly provides training to businesses.
Claire Knowles was previously a client of Follett Stock having worked as the HR Manager for two well known local companies, so she understands well the demands and pressures on HR Departments. She joins the team as a Paralegal with a dual role. She will be on hand to provide practical HR advice and assistance to Employer clients on ‘softer’ employment issues such as performance management, sickness issues, appraisals and team building which will offer a valuable add-on to the legal service the team already provide. Furthermore, she will play an integral role in launching a new employment insurance scheme. This will offer protection for employers from legal claims by employees, which in this increasingly litigious area will provide valuable support particularly for the small employer.
Managing Partner Chris Lingard says “They will both be joining Verity Slater’s thriving employment team. As a firm we are driven to set increasingly high standards within the marketplace. The appointment of Emma and Claire fits with the strategic business direction in which the firm is heading. It further enhances the high level of service offered by the team".
The firm has seen significant growth year-on-year now employing more than 50 staff at our modern purpose built offices in Truro.
